Answers to some questions...
Q. I haven't found any notch inside the boiler. and the brikka pot is bigger than it's box containing it, the "mouth" of the pot was shown outside the box when it is arrived. I am wandering if it is normal phenomenon of brikka products. - alex

A. There is no notch in the boiler pot. Usually when people talk about the notch it refers to the notch in the plastic water cup that comes along with Brikka (some of the old version of Brikka package may not contain this.) I did not notice the mouth of my Brikka was sticking out of the box when it arrived.
Q on Brikka Pressure Valve: I was really beginning to enjoy the espresso my Brikka was producing, but this morning, the pressure valve fell off. What do I do now? Can it be fixed? I only had it a week. Selena

A. You should be able to claim that your Brikka was not properly assembled. Or, you can fix it if the valve itself is not broken. No special tool necessary. Just screw the valve to where it was. I bought a replacement valve at bialettishop.com, but I do not see it sold online anymore.
Q. help, please..: i just got my brikka and until now i'm knind of dissapointed to be honest. i had a simple mokka pot before and was very happy with the taste of the coffee but i was missing the creama, so i thought brikka would be a good idea. until now i was trying around with different temperatures...even i was withing the 3mins, i didnt put too much coffee (i think), the coffee is tasting bitter and is actually not black, but has more the color of a coffee with milk. i'm using Lavazza espresso, as i was very pleased with it before. any suggestions?...please... - Johannes

A. Is your coffee light brown just at the surface? If so, I think it's pretty normal, and they are the "crema" of Brikka, which is different from that of espresso coffee. Brikka coffee does not brew syrupy coffee like espresso machine does. The pressure from the pot is much lower than espresso machines, and you should expect the difference. Yet all the people I know love Brikka as a unique kind of brewing method.
If your coffee is light brown all the way to the bottom, I don't know what is happening...Please check the grind is as fine as or slightly coarser than espresso grind, the water level should be well below the safety valve in the boiler pot, and the heat of the stove is medium high to high.
If you still are not happy with your coffee, please try with Espresso Adoration beans, or Cheffini beans.
